Monarch Memo
February 20-24, 2017
A thank you to all the staff members who made the Frosh Showcase a big success. We appreciate all the teachers, staff, parent volunteers, student leaders and student performers for taking the time to speak to parents, answer questions, lead campus tours, serve food, perform, set up and clean up after. Robin McGrew did a wonderful job organizing the event (Kudos to Debbie Montana, too). Thank you to Rad for doing a wonderful job as the Admin. overseeing the entire event. Also, a big shout out to Bill for always being our master griller.
Unity Days could not happen without all the wonderful teachers and staff members who take the time to support our students and lead a group. All this could not happen without the heart and passion of Tracy Leota. Thank you Tracy for your hard work and dedication to making this day special for our students. Tracy is also a main contributor and leader at CAMP LEAD. We are so fortunate to have such giving and leaders on campus who go above and beyond the work day to support students. Thank you Tracy.
What’s New?
Dr. Glover sent out a budget update message to families and staff this past week. Here is the link:
Budget Update from MVHS
At this point, there is no news to share on next steps and how cuts will trickle down to sites. My best guess that we may here something this week. As soon as I hear, I will let you know. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
New Substitute System
Please keep an eye out for an email and hard copy letter introducing and welcoming staff to the new substitute system called AESOP. The district plans to go LIVE on March 1st.
District Auditor Message
“Teachers and staff are not allowed to sell food items to students within their classrooms/office. Ed Code 51521 prohibits these types of sales.” It has come to their attention that individuals on sites are violating this and the district will take action.
