Monarch Memo
Nov. 6 - 10, 2017
Veterans Day Nov. 11, Observed Friday
Our Monarch Staff is truly spirited and dedicated. We had so many staff members in attendance at the Staff Appreciation Night/Senior Night and dress up on Halloween. Thank you to Leisa and the ASB for coordinating this and to Anessa for getting the T-shirts numbered (jersey style) for the football team to give out staff. We hope to see a big crowd at our November 17 home game vs. the winner of Coronado and Chula Vista High School.
Academic League has begun. We are off to a great start with both JV and Varsity with a win last week. Come out and watch a match in the library when we host a home meet. The next one is home this Wednesday vs. GHS.
Tech Team Survey to meet your Tech needs
Last year teachers completed the goliath MV Tech Survey (thank you!). This year, you only need to update your response where needed and provide a short answer to a new question. If you are a new teacher to MV, you will complete the form for the first time. Please open the MV Tech Survey (Fall 2017 Update) form and click "Edit Your Response." Review your responses, change the ones that need to be changed so that your responses most accurately represent your current tech use and needs, and "Submit" the form again. Travias also added more space for written feedback, should you have additional questions, concerns, or comments. Please respond by Thursday, November 9.

Suicide Awareness Training
Current legislation, AB 2246, and Board Policy/Administrative Regulation 5141.52, requires all school employees receive annual training in Assisting in Suicide Prevention. This course will address the needs of high-risk groups, including suicide awareness and prevention training for teachers, and ensure school employees act within the authorization and scope of the employee’s credential, license and position.
You received an e-mail from notifications@ezlcms.com, New Course Enrollment - DO NOT DELETE IT!! The email will provide a link http://www.jpalearninglibrary.com/login/89/ which will take you to the “JPA Learning Center” website (under which this training is located). That email will be sent to the original email address provided to us when you took the Making Right Choices (now Preventing Sexual Misconduct) class. The course takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and it does not need to be completed in one sitting. The course is designed so that when you stop, it will automatically bookmark itself, and when you return, it will resume at that spot. Upon completion of the course, you will have the option to print a Certificate for your records. Please print your certificate and give a copy to your site secretary. Thank you for taking the time to complete this training in the spirit it was intended, which is to protect our students.
