Need Web Tools or Support?
As education increasingly emphasizes and rewards engagement, application, and digital creation, more and more educators are finding value in providing time for students to apply content knowledge in a variety of enriching ways. If you are looking for web tools that support student learning through interaction, application, and representation of content knowledge, check out this curation of Web Tools for Student Creation. Travis Engstrand is always here to support you in any manner you wish (i.e. ideation, questions, lesson-creation, sample lessons during PLC time, lunch, Period 5, and, possibly, your prep period). Additionally, the District DLCs are available to come out and meet with you as many times as you would like and during your preferred meeting time.

Here is the message sent home to parents on Sunday, October 1, 2017

Happy Homecoming week Monarch families.
We begin the week’s festivities with spirit dress up days.  Our theme is “Home Sweet Homecoming”.  Monday is Home Run day (Sports theme).  Tuesday is “Make Yourself at Home” so dress in PJ’s and footwear that are appropriate for school. Wednesday is Homies Day so dress alike with a friend or group of friends. Thursday is “Home Away From Home” Day so dress like a tourist. Friday is “There’s No Place Like Home” - dress in your Monte Vista gear and get ready to be on TV.
KUSI has chosen Monte Vista to host the Alarm Clock Pep Rally bright and early before school on Friday.  We want as many Monarchs as possible dressed in their spirit wear and in the stands when we go on air.  Please arrive no later than 7:00 a.m. to make sure you have a seat.  We will be in the stands over an hour until 8:12 a.m. so please make sure to eat a good breakfast so you are ready to cheer and show your school spirit.
All families are invited to the Homecoming Football game vs. Mount Miguel at 7:00 p.m.  Get there by 6:00 p.m. to partake in the delicious food booths hosted by our clubs.  Before the game we will introduce our Monarch Alumni Hall of Fame Inductees who will be honored at a formal ceremony on Saturday night.  At half-time, we will crown our Homecoming queen.
The Homecoming events continue with our dance on Saturday night from 7:00 - 11:00 p.m. Tickets are still on sale and we are extending the lower price for one more day only.  Tomorrow ticket prices are still $20.00 with an ASB card and $25.00 without.  On Tuesday, the prices will go up to $25.00 with an ASB card and $30.00 without.  This is a great deal for a school dance.  If you want to bring a non-Monte Vista guest, all guest passes must be turned in no later than Wednesday.
Have a great Homecoming Week Monarchs.  Hope to see you at the assembly and the game.
